File Clerk Cover Letter
File clerk cover letter is written like all the other business letters. Your covering letter should have all the reasons that tells the recruiter that why he/she needs to choose you. You need a covering letter that is brief, precise and attractive. Here are some steps that will get you the job interview.
- First impressions do count. A known fact that a covering letter is always read before your resume, so make sure that it gets the reader's attention. Copying a generic letter internet, sloppy spelling and punctuation errors, forgetting to add contact details and omitting a certain job preference will put your cover letter straight in the trash
- It is not an extra option. Even though the recruiter has asked you to send across your resume, you need to always send a covering letter. The cover letter will introduce your resume, what it stands for and why it is there. It sets the scene for your resume
- Hello who? If the job advertisement does not have a contact name, then you must call the human resources for finding out who is responsible for scrutinizing your job application. This is a personal way and if you need to follow-up then you know whom you need to contact for the same
- Be brief. Three to four paragraphs should be enough for conveying your motivation, personality and experience. Always remember that a cover letter must never replace your resume. However, you will have to summarize your suitability for every role by properly matching the experience for the advertised job
- Never be arrogant but be factual. Make sure that you never cross the line between muppet and expert. There is highlighting what you have done and selling yourself. Never use statements like, "I am the best candidate" instead replace them with, "I strongly think that I have the experience and skills for making a strong candidate"

Some things that you need to avoid while writing cover letter:
- Never mention any unrelated skills or qualifications. This is one of the most common mistakes that many candidates make. Mention only those details that are relevant to the current job opening. If you list any irrelevant qualification then this will leave a negative impact
- Not listing the contact details will give a bad impression. This clearly states that you lack attention to detail and your cover letter will be sitting in a corner biting dust. Therefore, list the contact details
- Double check everything you write on your cover letter. Remember that first impression is in fact the last impression
