Adjunct professors are hired to fill in the position of professors who have gone on a leave or retired from the job. These professors have less responsibilities as compared to the long-term professors. Since the nature of employment is contractual, there is no encumbrance of administrative and clerical duties like regular professors face. The adjunct professors may teach one or more subject to graduate and undergraduate level students. The main role of these professor is to teach and ensure classes are conducted regularly for students. When performing the job, they have to follow the designed curriculum of the institute.
