Fire alarm technicians job is to install and repair fire alarm systems in buildings. Before taking up the installation work, they inform clients about the cost factor involved. Then, they go through the blueprint of the building to understand electrical layout. Once they are clear from where to take the connection, the technicians then decide on fixing the alarm system for which they drill the wall or the ceiling. The system is then connected to the electrical wiring for power supply. After completing the installation, the technicians test the system and brief about its functioning to the clients.
To work as a fire alarm technician, an associate degree either in electronics or fire alarm technology is compulsory. Plus, experience in inspecting and testing electrical and electronic systems is also required.
