Diesel technicians have the skills to diagnose and fix mechanical and electronic problems in diesel engine. They are proficient in repairing and maintaining any vehicles that run on diesel. Some of them may also specialize in handling issues with passenger vehicles, or tractors, bulldozers, and cranes. They are skilled in dismantling, mounting, and repairing engines, brake systems, and electronic components. These technicians work with transportation companies, manufacturing units, or at private auto body shops.
To become a diesel technician, a high school diploma is the minimum requirements. However, you need to get the formal training at a community college or a vocation school for repairing diesel engine and vehicles. Training to the technicians are usually provided on the job.
