Unit secretaries are responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of hospital units. They interact with all unit members, understand problems, and try to resolve them at the earliest. It is also their onus to see that medical staff face no problems in executing their duties and the equality in patient care is not dropped. Since medical care also involve paper works, the unit secretaries are the ones who take care of medical records of patients. They also hold basic knowledge of medical terminology, but are not authorized to execute medical duties. Their daily routine includes greeting patients, visitors, and filling out necessary forms for diagnosis and treatment.
