Steno secretaries are personal assistants to vice president or director. Their role is to take dictation in shorthand, attend meetings and prepare minutes, schedule meetings, and prepare and maintain calendars. They also interact on behalf of their boss with the staff and clients. If the staff and clients have any problems and grievances, they try to sort them out at their end first. If the issues are too big for them to manager, then they bring them to the notice of their boss.
