Bar managers work in hotels, restaurants, resorts, pubs, and any other licensed establishments that serve food and drinks. Their role is to ensure customers are satisfied with the services provided to them. They are responsible for the entire day-to-day operations of the bar and improving its business.
A well-written bar manager resume demonstrates experience in handling daily activities of the bar, hiring and training staff, managing vendors, enforcing rules and policies for the staff, and quality standards, planning and implementing promotional events in order to increase the number of patrons, resolving problems, updating bar license, and making the bar's environment safe and fun for the staff as well as patrons.
The resume also emphasizes strong knowledge of the food and drinks business, rules and regulations for running a bar, accounting principles, and business management skills. It also highlights the ability to resolve conflicts between staff and customers, handle housekeeping and maintenance staff, and maintain proper stock of food and drinks. A high school diploma is usually considered for this role.
However, high-end and fancy bars do expect the candidate to be a graduate and hold a certification in hotel management with specialization in bar operations, or a diploma in bar management.
