A government contractors bids for any construction job undertaken by the government and outsource them to subcontractors. They can bid for jobs such as building toilet in public places, paving a street, constructing a road, etc. If the contractor is capable of bidding big projects such as constructing a bridge or a dam, he may also bid for the same. However, he will solely be responsible for the job since he has been contracted by the government. Getting the job done by others or subcontractors is his outlook and the government is no where concerned about it. In case, if there is delay or accident due to poor quality of work, the government contractor will have to face legal suit.
