Field investigators are professionals who are responsible for performing research and surveillance for individual clients or for large corporations. If there is a given case, then the field investigator will have to perform interviews, observations and will have to determine as to what is happening with the client. In some situations, this profession will require an individual to have a state license.
These professionals are usually employed with the law enforcement agencies or with a corporation. Field investigators are hired by clients to find out information related to a specific person or organization. The exact duties of these individuals will vary from case to case, but the main tasks are all the same. They will have to conduct research online, refer to creative sources and libraries as well as for tracking down the required information or address.
Once these professionals are in the field, they will spend their entire time following and observing the person who is under surveillance. One way to acquire direct information is by asking a person for a personal interview and questioning them to see if the person has the required information. A field investigator needs to have training in self-defense due to varied locations and controversial nature of the organization.
