Health Care Aide Cover Letter

Health care aides or home-health care aides are professionals who will take care of individuals who stay in their home and require help with activities and tasks for their daily living. These professionals are also known as attendants, caregivers or companions. They will also help people with household chores, tasks and running some of the other errands. The age group that usually needs help from health care aide professionals is the elderly and those who suffer from mental or physical disability.

There is no specific educational requirement for the health care aide professionals. Every individual home-health agency will have their own set of rules and regulations, and some will even provide on-job training. Maximum people working as health aides are high school graduates with a post-secondary education. The on-job training basically provides information on procedures and policies of the health aides and how they should be dealing with emergency situations. There are also voluntary certificates offered by the Home Care and Hospice (NACH), which can be taken by fresher.

The home-health care aides will help every patient in completing their activities of daily living, which are usually difficult for them because of their mental or physical disability. Some of the patients will need more attention because they will be suffering from severe mental illness like stroke, paralysis or cerebral paralysis. The personal-care duties that you will have to handle are bathing and dressing the person, using the toilet, eating, and exercises or transporting the person to another room.

These professionals will never help the patients with medical procedures. For those people who five basic medical supports, training will be given on the job by nurses. The basic medical care always includes simple tasks like changing, dressing, looking after oral medications and some other basic medical needs. If you have the desire to help people then this will be the right profession for you. Start applying for jobs, but you will need a cover letter for the same. Here is a sample health care aide cover letter to guide you ahead.
