A hotel clerk is often the first person who is first in line for customer satisfaction for any hotel they are working for. He is the face of all service and management employees inside the hotel, and they will always take the full praise or blame of the customer's experience in the hotel. Remarkable people skills, physical labor and local expertise are essential skills that every hotel clerk need to posses for becoming successful.
Since they are the greeting face to the clients, they need to have exceptionally good communication skills. Guests will always be dependent on the clerks for providing correct information on the hotel schedules and rates, guiding them to the room properly and reacting in a calm manner during emergencies. Except for checking the guests in and out of the hotel, a hotel clerk will have to perform almost all the other duties inside the hotel, and this all depends on the staffing situation. Sometimes the hotel clerk will also have to manage the cash register and handle the guest transactions.
If you have got these skills and waiting for a job opportunity, then write a cover letter to help you with that. Here is an example of a hotel clerk cover letter that will guide you ahead.
