You have a killer hospitality resume and now all you need to do is write a good cover letter. Some of the researchers say that you have not more than 40 seconds for grabbing the attention of the reader before they get distracted. Therefore, the key point that you need to remember is that your letter must be up to the point and concise. In addition, you have to show your passion and interest for that job post.
Before you start flexing your fingers and reach for the keyboard, take some time out for completing research on that organization and study the job requirements in detail. You will have to demonstrate what you have learned from the organization and the position for showing that that you are not using a standard application for every job. The first paragraph of your cover letter must be snappy and short. Mention your name, the position you are applying for and responsibilities you hold at the current job. Add a sentence or two about how you think you are suitable for this job.
The second paragraph of your letter should be where you can cut loose and actually sell yourself. If you a fresher then you need to mention the level of education and what all you can offer. If you have some years of work experience, then you have to focus on your work experience. The employers would be more interested to know what you have been doing with your degree since all these years.
The concluding paragraph should never end with, "I look forward to hearing from you," but write something that tells the hiring manager that you want to meet and discuss the details further. Whenever you are done writing, ask someone to read it again for you and remember that, a letter full of grammatical mistakes and typos will be of no help. Dear Ms. Lewis,
I am applying for the position of Food Service Director with your organization and also submitting a letter of recommendation and resume for further procedure. I am confident that my past experience in management of beverage and food will be a huge asset for your organization and I will be making a positive contribution to Golden Living Solutions.
Here is a short summary that will illustrate the skills and qualifications, which I would be bringing to your organization:
I am aware that any kitchen will need a full team for producing the best possible food. For the same reason, I am sure that I will be able to bring love and enthusiasm for the job that most of the candidates may not offer Golden Living Solutions.
You can contact me at w.debra@example.com or call me at 938-181-1937, so that we can set up a meeting for discussing the experience further. I can be available at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Debra Walker
