There are a lot many factors that should be taken into consideration for constructing a building. Some of the factors are the land, connectivity from city, electricity and water connection, the rate of all these, the duration of construction, whether a building has to be made earthquake proof, etc. The person who thinks of these check points is the architect. We will see how an architect cover letter can make a difference compared to when you submit a resume without the cover letter.
Raising a building is all about calculations, angles, the right material, directions, etc. That means, there is a lot of homework to be done by the architect. In a similar way the resume is the final outcome of whatever you have achieved and done in your career, both academic and professional. The architect cover letter helps to give an insight into your desire for being a part of the organization where you have applied for job. The cover letter is a personal letter written to the employer or the recruiter of a company for telling few qualities of your personality which you think can influence him or her to select you.
There are a few points to remember when writing the architect cover letter. The letter should specify which position you are applying for and why. Experts ask to do a bit of homework and find out about the firms where you apply for jobs to help you in the interview and in this case the cover letter too. It gives you that confidence and preparedness to face an employer and places you in a position wherein you can feel you are at one platform. We will see an example of architect cover letter now.
This architect cover letter is written by an architecture student studying in the final year of his course and seeking job through the campus interviews of his college.

Dear Miss. Earnest,
Subject: Job application for Architect
I am in my last year and last semester of Architecture Engineering in University of Alaska. I saw the notice which read you have vacancies for Architects and that you are looking for fresh graduates. I therefore apply for the position in your organization through this letter. Although I am a fresher I have been doing a yearlong internship with one of the best architects in the state, Jefferson Associates. I think I have learnt a lot which cannot be taught inside the walls of a classroom and I believe I can use the practical knowledge very well when I start working. I have seen some of the 3D diagrams that your official website hosts and would like to add that I am also good with CAD and CAM software. I do not know if it is architects who make those 3D representations of the projects but I personally would love to do it.
I would love to work with you and request a chance to meet you for discussing about the details of my internship. I also have a letter of recommendation from Mr. George Jefferson, Senior Managing Architect.
Hoping to hear from you soon and thanking you in anticipation.
Sincere regards,

Writing a cover letter is an extra step you take towards being genuine with the employer. Because you and the employer do not know each other in person the written word is your introduction to him or her. That is why we have to make sure you draft it properly. Hope our inputs come to your good use and we wish you success for your future!
