EMC Engineer Responsibilities
The EMC engineer stands for Electromagnetic Compatibility engineer. He is responsible for heading and supervising all the EMC activities of that particular company. The EMC engineering responsibilities include testing all the EMC procedures, writing down the needs for the laboratory and working with the clients and the sales team to guarantee the best level client services.
He works with the other EMC engineers in executing daily tests and sorting out the matters related to the discharge of the products and their resistance. He carries out tests on all the EMC services for the customers, studies the key cause of all the issues arising and asks for confirmation of the same. The EMC engineer has many responsibilities that may vary from one EMC firm to another. But his basic and key responsibilities remain the same:
- Observing, covering and developing various activity programs supported on the EMC team and the execution metrics of the products
- Making sure that the EMC team matches to the global procedures and utilizes the world-wide tools on the various plans and programs
- Managing and checking all the EMC test instruments and working on specialized tasks with the OEM providers
- Updating himself with all the test methods and making sure that they are in agreement with the accepted norms and taking part in all the procedures, to make sure that these procedures are in agreement with the business policies
- Collecting and comparing the data in order to ensure that the results are maintained properly
- Initiating the test programs and setting up the documented reports for the same
- Examining the instruments and assessing their results and helping the clients with recognising the drawbacks in the EMC programs
- Administrating and confirming the customer needs for all the EMC actions taken and helping the sales department with providing acknowledgments for the propositions
- Supervising and studying the EMC matters for railway work and documenting subordinate papers
- Assessing the documented EMC papers for methodical engineering and volunteering in all the test actions on the site
- Determining the covering information with the help of various computer software systems and expertisingly supervise all the railway work
- Interfacing effacaciously with all the growing sectors and making sure that they agree to all the design needs
- Making sure that all the testing laboratory instruments are utilized properly and recognising the required instruments for all the procedures followed
- Troubleshooting all the issueable matters arising from the products, so that the queries can be resolved
- Directing, teaching and guiding all the team members of the EMC
- Determining and reporting the project work load and administrating the work funds
- Reporting the work conditions
- Approving and displaying the tendency modelling use to mould and imitate conceptual products
- Revaluating the abstract marks for products and the laid sketches for EMC dangers
- Teaching the EMC concepts to the techie staff and assisting them, as and when needed
- Arranging and supervising the EMC files and working with the committee designers and the software application project units in order to set up test write-ups
Qualifications and Skills
The candidate needs to have a bachelor's degree in engineering with majors in integer component design and agreement testing. He should be able to equilibrate client, pattern and manufacture needs. He should also be very enthusiastic and should motivate himself and the others for procedure and product enhancement. Acquiring a master's degree in engineering with majors in digital hardware design and compliance testing or in a similar field would be an asset for this position.
Work Conditions
The EMC engineer works in large establishments for about 8-9 hours a day and about 40-45 hours per week on an average. He remains fairly busy and communicates with the design team and others. Sometimes, he has to meet deadlines given to him and has to work overtime.
Salary
He draws an average salary of USD 80, 800 per annum. But this may vary from one place to another depending on the size of the organization.
