- Why do you choose to be a nurse?
Nursing is not a very common profession that many opt for. Thus, you have to present them with a concrete reason for your choice.
- What kind of training have you had? What are your qualifications?
Discuss your training process. Explain your theory as well as practical training pattern. Present a copy of your certificates and nursing license. Speak at length about your experiences during the learning phase.
- As a nursing professional, what do you think are your strengths and weaknesses?
Put forth three to four key strengths that relates to your profession. Highlight your core skills by demonstrating them with suitable incident.
Mention some of your weaknesses honestly and do not forget to add how you are working hard to improve on it.
- What do you like/ dislike the most about this job?
Always begin your answer with positive note, so, first answer what do you like most about this job then come to another part of the question.
- Give reasons on why we should hire you?
You should be hired because you fulfill all or at least most of their requirements. Hence, give them an overview about your qualifications, your core competencies, and your experience in the field etc.
- Given the long hours of work, what keeps you motivated?
This is one of the most practical questions that they can ask you. It is indeed difficult to keep one motivated for long stretches of hours. Refrain from stating the monetary benefits as your motivational factor. Tell them what drives you to perform well in spite of the long tedious work hours.
- How good are you at handling emergency situations?
Emergency cases are a part and parcel of the medical world. To respond to this question, you should narrate a situation where you had efficiently addressed and resolved the issue.
- What are your future plans?
Explain your future career plans elaborately. Do not forget to state that you are banking on this organization for an upward push to your career graph.
