Wound nurses are specialist in treating all types of wound, whether patients have had them through an accident, burn, or doing routine tasks at a job site. When a wounded patient drops into a clinic, the wound care nurse accesses the wound, clean it, apply antibiotics, and bandages. In case of hospitalization for serious wound, these nurses will work with doctors and prepare care plan for the required days of treatments. Monitoring and speeding up the wound healing process, and explaining patients on how to take care of wounds at home after discharge are also duties of these nurses.
