Therefore, a logistic department is established by companies to ensure that delivery is prompt, secured, and accurate. This department is managed by logistic controllers whose job is to make sure that goods are moved from source point and reach to destination as per schedule. The job holder will also oversee packaging, verify papers, assign drivers, quality and quantity of goods, and provide instructions. If the materials to be delivered are of hazardous nature, the controller will take extra precaution to avoid any slippage and accidents.
To control the flow of goods from one point to another, a degree in logistics is necessary. Some employers may also ask for an MBA degree. The resume must show experience of logistic department of a supply chain or a manufacturing unit.
