Surgeon Assistant Resume
Surgeon assistants play important role before, during, and post surgery. They explain and prepare patients for the surgery procedures. Before a patient is taken into the operation theater, they ensure that the room and the needed instruments are sterilized. All the required things be it blood, cotton, gauzes, etc., are placed in the room in a manner easy to use them during the procedure. Some are even qualified and trained to administer anesthesia on patients. The assistants remain by the side of the operation table and provide instruments to the physician as and when required. Their role after the procedure is as important before and during the procedure since they follow up with and guide patients on taking after-surgery care.
A degree in surgical assisting is essential for the job. The American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants provide licenses to individuals to work in general surgical or any other surgical specialties department.
